Great service and extremely professional. I am using their full body package which is affordable and efficient. My arms and legs are smooth and showing signs of fewer hair. I have done only 4 sessions. I highly recommend this place.

Men’s body hair is thicker and more hormone-driven than women’s, so the back, chest and shoulders typically need 8–10 laser sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart. Laser hair removal reduces the hair permanently, stops razor bumps on the neck and beard line, and takes about 45 minutes per session for a full back.
Why men’s hair is different
Testosterone makes body hair coarser, denser and quicker to regrow, which is why shaving a back or chest is a losing battle and waxing is agony. It also means men respond extremely well to laser: dark, coarse hair absorbs laser energy efficiently. The trade-off is that hormonal hair keeps recruiting new follicles, so men usually need a couple more sessions than women and an occasional maintenance visit.
The problems men bring to us
Laser is not only about aesthetics, for many men it solves a daily irritation:
Back & shoulders
Impossible to shave yourself, painful to wax, and the most common area men book. A full back takes about 45 minutes.
Chest & abdomen
Reduce rather than remove. Many clients keep a lighter, even layer of hair instead of clearing it completely.
Neck & beard line
Razor bumps and ingrown hairs from a tight beard line or hairline; laser cleans up the edges and stops the bumps.
Athletes & cyclists
Hair-free legs, arms or chest for cycling, swimming, bodybuilding or simply less chafing and faster recovery.
Groin & buttocks
Trimming-only areas that cause ingrown hairs and irritation, treated privately, with a technician of your choice.

How laser hair removal works for men
We map the area with you first, full removal, a natural-looking reduction, or clean edges only, and the laser treats exactly that. The Candela GentleMax Pro’s large spot size covers a back quickly, and its cooling spray keeps a 45-minute session comfortable.
- Choose full clearance or a percentage reduction for a natural look on the chest and abdomen
- Neck and beard-line shaping stops razor bumps and ingrown hairs from tight hairlines
- Safe on every skin tone: Alexandrite for fair to olive skin, Nd:YAG for darker skin
- Back, chest or abdomen packages from $200; combine areas for the best pricing
- No downtime: train the next day, just skip the sauna and hot tub for 24 hours

What to expect at Oxyderm
Request a free consultation (we can schedule a male or female technician, whichever you prefer). We assess your skin type and hair, do a patch test and give you an exact per-session price. Shave the area 24 hours before each visit, we can shave your back for you at the clinic if you cannot reach, and avoid waxing, sun and self-tanner for two weeks beforehand.
Plan for 8–10 sessions 6–8 weeks apart for the back, chest and shoulders; the neck and beard line respond faster. Most men see patchy, finer regrowth after two sessions and 80–90% reduction by the end of the course, with a maintenance session every year or so.
Honest expectations
Laser targets pigment, so grey or white hairs on the back or chest will not respond and are better handled with electrolysis. Very hormonal hair (or hair driven by testosterone therapy) may need ongoing maintenance. We will tell you at the consultation what a realistic result looks like for you.
Why clients love Oxyderm
Real, unedited Google reviews from Edmonton clients: the experience we work for every day.
Great experience for laser hair removal and good pricing. I have gotten full body laser and now my skin is much smoother thanks to Yuliya being so thorough! Very kind and professional.
I haven’t done a google review ever for anyplace but the services here have made me share my awesome experience I had with the team here, especially Hetisha and Yulia. I have been taking full body laser hair removal… tments from here for over a year now and I feel this was one of the best decisions I have taken for my body so far. No more shaving, no more waxing pain, and the confidence I feel in myself always validates the spending. I always feel welcomed coming here and leave with a smile only. I will recommend this place for anyone who is debating if they should try it or not. Again, thanks oxyderm:)
Back, Chest & Body Hair for Men: your questions, answered
Straight answers from the Oxyderm team. Still wondering about something? Call us. We love these questions.
How many sessions does a man’s back need?
Usually 8–10 sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart, because back and shoulder hair is coarse, dense and hormone-driven. Most men see a clear difference after two sessions and an 80–90% reduction by the end of the course, with a maintenance session once a year or so.
Can I keep some chest hair instead of removing it all?
Yes. We can thin the hair for a lighter, natural-looking layer rather than clearing it completely. Many clients choose this for the chest and abdomen. Tell us the look you want and we will map the treatment accordingly.
Does laser hair removal help razor bumps on the neck?
Yes: it is one of the most effective treatments for pseudofolliculitis on the neck and beard line. Laser disables the follicles that keep producing curly, ingrowing hairs, so the bumps stop forming. We can shape the beard line and hairline edges at the same time.
How much does men’s laser hair removal cost?
Back, chest or abdomen packages start at $200 per area, with combo pricing when you treat several areas in one plan. Your free consultation includes an exact quote for your areas and session count, and new clients receive a $50 gift card.
Does it hurt?
Coarse hair absorbs more energy, so men feel each pulse a little more than women do: a quick hot snap, cooled instantly by the device’s cryogen spray. Most describe a full back as very tolerable, and numbing cream is available on request.
Do I need to shave before my appointment?
Yes, 24 hours before. Shaving leaves the follicle intact for the laser to target; waxing or epilating removes it and must be avoided for four weeks before treatment. If you cannot reach your back, we shave it for you at the clinic.
