I started doing radio frequency treatment for tummy and face, the results were amazing. Julia is an excellent technician, very thorough and patient, she doesn’t rush and she takes her time which I really appreciate. My… on comes there for laser and he got amazing results as well. Definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
Microneedling for the Face
The face is what microneedling was built for: texture, enlarged pores, acne scarring and fine lines across the cheeks, forehead, nose and around the mouth. It works by provoking your own skin into repairing itself.

Facial microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin so it responds by producing new collagen. We use the eDermaStamp, a medical-grade device with adjustable depth, so the cheeks, forehead, nose and the thinner skin around the eyes and mouth can each be treated at a depth that suits them. Expect to look pink for a day or two and for the result to build over the following weeks rather than appearing overnight.
What it treats on the face
Microneedling is a texture and quality treatment rather than a surface polish. It suits the things that do not respond to facials: the orange-peel texture across the cheeks, the pitted scarring left by acne, enlarged pores on the nose and inner cheeks, and the fine crepey lines that appear around the mouth and eyes before deeper wrinkles set in.
Because the response comes from your own skin rather than from anything we put on it, the change is gradual and cumulative. That is the trade-off: it is slower than a resurfacing laser, and it is gentler.
Why depth matters on a face
A face is not one thickness. The skin over the cheekbones and forehead is robust; around the eyes, on the temples and across the upper lip it is considerably thinner. Treating the whole face at a single depth either under-treats the thick areas or over-treats the delicate ones.
Adjustable depth
The eDermaStamp lets your technician change needle depth by zone, so the cheek is treated at a different setting from the eyelid margin or the upper lip.
An hour or more
Facial microneedling is a full appointment: numbing time, the treatment itself, then calming the skin afterwards.
Pink, not raw
Expect to look flushed, as though mildly sunburned, for a day or two. Makeup goes back on once the channels have closed — your technician will say when.
With or without PRP
Adding platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood is a common upgrade for scarring and overall quality. It lengthens the appointment.

Before and after your session
Most of what determines your result happens outside the treatment room: what you stop using beforehand, and how carefully you protect the skin while it repairs.
- Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids and scrubs several days before — your technician will give you the exact window
- Come with a clean face and no makeup on the day
- No sun, tanning bed or self-tanner on the face for two weeks either side of a session
- Nothing but the aftercare you are given for the first day: no actives, no acids, no makeup until cleared
- Skip the gym, sauna, steam room and swimming pool for the rest of the day — sweat and chlorine on open channels are the main avoidable risk
- Daily SPF 30 or higher afterwards, without exception; new collagen is vulnerable to UV

Microneedling or a facial?
These do different jobs and are often confused. A facial cleanses, hydrates, exfoliates and brightens at the surface, with no downtime and an immediate glow. Microneedling works below the surface to change the structure of the skin, with a day or two of pinkness and a result that appears over weeks. Many clients run both: microneedling in a course for texture and scarring, facials in between for maintenance and glow.
Is it right for you?
Microneedling suits most skin types and tones, because it is a mechanical treatment rather than a light-based one — there is no pigment for it to target and therefore no skin-tone restriction. It is not appropriate over active acne breakouts, infected or broken skin, or if you are on certain medications; isotretinoin in particular needs a clear gap, and your technician will ask. We assess the skin at a free consultation and will tell you if a different treatment, or a different order of treatments, would serve you better.

Microneedling for face: your questions
Straight answers from the Oxyderm team. Still wondering about something? Call us. We love these questions.
What does microneedling do for the face that a facial cannot?
A facial works at the surface — cleansing, exfoliating, hydrating — and gives you an immediate glow with no downtime. Microneedling works below the surface to stimulate new collagen, which changes texture and softens scarring over weeks. They solve different problems, and many clients do both.
Does facial microneedling hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied and given time to work before treatment starts. Most clients describe the sensation as a rough vibration or sandpapery feeling rather than sharpness, more noticeable over bone — the forehead, the jawline, the nose. Tell your technician if any zone is too much and the depth is adjusted.
How long will my face be red?
Expect to look pink and feel warm, much like mild sunburn, for one to three days depending on the depth treated. Deeper settings for scarring produce more flushing than a lighter texture pass.
When can I wear makeup again?
Not on the day of treatment — the micro-channels need to close first. Your technician will tell you exactly when to restart based on the depth they used, and will send you home with what to use in the meantime.
Should I add PRP to facial microneedling?
PRP uses platelets from a small sample of your own blood, applied into the channels the needling creates. Clients treating scarring or overall skin quality commonly add it. It makes the appointment longer. Your technician will talk you through whether it is worth it for your particular skin at the consultation.
Is microneedling safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Unlike laser, microneedling is mechanical and does not target pigment, so there is no skin-tone restriction. Standard aftercare still applies — strict sun protection matters for everyone, and especially where post-inflammatory pigmentation is a risk.
